A social adult day program for people experiencing memory loss.
This architecturally appropriate space tailored specifically for this population offers the following services:
Community Caregiving is an activity-based Social Adult Day program for persons in early to moderate stages of memory loss.
Support Groups in both English and Spanish are available for caregivers.
Casework Assistance is available to assist families with services and entitlements such as home care.
Daily Activities (Monday through Saturday) include orientation, cognitive exercises, arts and crafts, music therapy, movement therapy, dance, discussion groups and current events.
Day trips to the Botanical Gardens, Riverbank State Park and City Island, as well as special events such as fashion shows, and birthday and holiday parties, provide additional rewarding experiences for program members.
Activities in this beautiful, safe and supervised setting give participants the opportunity to socialize with peers and staff and promote independence which increases sense of well being.
Hot, nutritious lunch and snacks are provided, and transportation can be arranged for residents of Washington Heights, Inwood, and West Harlem, north of 110th Street. Vans are able to accommodate wheel chair bound participants.
Monday-Friday: 8:30—4:30 PM
Saturdays 10 AM — 3 PM (participants can attend from 1 to 5 hours on Saturdays)
